The ISS policy on maintaining a sustainable development.
To be able to follow developments in the work situation of employees and to
identify new human resource initiatives, ISS regularly conduct employee
satisfaction surveys and analyse employee turnover and reasons for employees
leaving.
Employee satisfaction surveys in particular have proved to be a very
effective instrument for focusing our human resources initiative in order to
increase employee retention.
ISS employees at all levels are guaranteed influence on their immediate work
situation by means of a number of procedures such as performance planning and
evaluation discussions, the organisation of service providers into responsible
teams, participation in quality improvement groups and rapid communication due
to the flat organisational structure.
Large groups of employees at ISS also take part in annual business planning,
which is a top-down/bottom-up process.
ISS seeks to ensure employees a sound daily working environment by constantly
developing materials which are user- and environmentally friendly. It also seeks
to employ ergonomically correct tools and machines. The continuous training of
employees in the use of materials and methods also contributes substantially
toward an improved working environment.
